the locks and windows nightly,
just because he cares and worries.

trash cans around the house and
puts trash out to the curb, because he knows
his mom fell asleep.

to come get your car started,
because he knows you don’t have money to fix
it yourself.

The friend that forgives with encouragement,
because he knows that raising children
Is hard.

The mom that makes blueberry muffins from
scratch, because she knows they are one
of her boy’s favorites.

Saying “I love you” is easy…

Showing love can be too.

Talk for an hour…

“Are you going to be awake later? Can I call you back?”

“Yes.”

A comfortable spot on my bed…

He calls.
